Tom McMahon

I have lived in West Point for the past 46 years after moving here from Omaha in 1964. I graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1973, and married my high school sweetheart Karen in April of 1975. We have two daughters, Stacey and her husband Phil (who just published a children's book, which is going to be a best seller, check out (Marblespark.com), and two grandsons, 4 year old McCoy and 2 year old Lincoln, with another grandson on the way in November. My youngest daughter Kristi works as a surgical nurse and I am proud to say is engaged to Ryan Logemann of Omaha. They have set a wedding date of April 9th, 2011.  Both of my daughter's have quality men in their lives.  Kristi also has a four-legged little girl (Yorkie, 8 years old) named Annie, that is just like another grandchild. Since my last update we added a new member to our family, a three year old female Yorkie named Tessie with her very own personality.
I started working for KTIC back in the eighties part time as a sports announcer and board shift operator. I have been the Sports Director since 1997 here at KTIC, covering 13 schools in local sports broadcasts and currently doing the Bull Morning Show from 6am to 9am with Doug Anderson. I am a Virgo, favorite colors are red and blue, a Red Sox fanatic, and my favorite shows are any CSI, NCIS and SportsCenter. Hobbies include visiting family, sports memorabilia and an occasional round of golf.

I will be having a couple of surgeries on September 7th that will sideline me for quite a while. The first surgery is called Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion, which is a spinal fusion to stabilize the spinal vertebra and the disc or shock absorber between the vertebra. Lumbar fusion surgery is designed to create solid bone between the adjoining vertebra, eliminating any movement between the bones. The goal of the surgery is to reduce pain and nerve irritation.
The second will be on the neck, as some cleaning from previous surgeries needs to be done.  Hopefully the recovery process goes well and I can be back on my feet soon.
In the meantime please give your full support to the great crew that will cover sporting events during my absence, Doug Anderson, Jeremy Rasmussen, Kent Aurich & Mike Eilerts.  Hope to talk to you soon!

Once again we made our annual golfing trip to Excelsior Springs, Missouri for the Gregg Williams Tiger Classic.  Those that are familiar with the New Orleans Saints know that Gregg is the defensive coordinator of the Saints, but what you might not know is that he is an alumni of Excelsior Springs High School and comes back each year for the Tiger Classic Golf Tournament.
The Saints were the 2010 Super Bowl champions and on hand was the Lombardi Trophy given to the Super Bowl champs.  The closest most folks will ever get to see one is either on television or possibly at the Hall of Fame.  Not only did we get pictures holding the trophy, but also one picture with Gregg with his NFC Championship ring and his Super Bowl ring on my fingers.
Gregg's son Blake also helped coach the offensive line making this the first time in the history of the Super Bowl that a father and son were winning coaches on a Super Bowl team.
Gregg's youngest son Chase will be a starting freshman linebacker at Virginia Tech this fall.
Despite what the pictures show the trophy is all gold  and I will have more pictures up in a few more days.
