Hey Everybody,

If you didn't already figure it out, this is Hayley Clark and I will be writing the FFA Newsletter this year! If you have any questions, feel free to email me at: hayleyclark19@gmail.com or you can call or text me at (308) 220-8443.

This week, I have a few items of business to report to you....

First off, our chapter has been offered the chance to have a carwash sponsored by Wolf Auto Center. All proceeds will be donated to our chapter!!! So we NEED VOLUNTEERS!!!! This carwash will last three days, from 10 a.m. to 4p.m. on June 17-19! We need input from you! So far, we are thinking of having two shifts each day and we need three or more volunteers for each shift!!!! So please email, text, or call me if you think you can volunteer. If you have a certain shift that you would like to work, just let me know!!!

On May 23, the annual Scotts Bluff County Fairgrounds clean-up will be taking place. They have decided to have two this year, because of the number of shows that will take place. I would personally like to encourage everyone to attend! If you choose to attend, it will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds.

Also, to be able to show at fair in FFA, you will need to attend the Quality Assurance training and regular FFA meeting, which will be held on Monday, June 28th at 7p.m. at the Ag. Building.

These are all the email addresses I received. If you have anyone else you would like me to start sending the newsletter to just let me know! Also please let me know if you would like to unsubscribe to the newsletter. Thank you.

Once again if anyone has any questions, feel free to contact me! I will plan on sending out a newsletter every two weeks this summer, or whenever necessary.

Have a great summer!!!!!

Thanks,

Hayley Clark

Record Breaking Scottsbluff FFA Labor Auction
By Leslie Smith
Published Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 11:29 AM
Mike Nuss auctions off Senior Sara Aschenbrenner
From flexing muscles to lifting chairs, doing cartwheels, and one student even ate a stryofoam cup to impress the bidders. Scottsbluff FFA members did what ever it took to attract bids at their annual labor auction Tuesday night. This year's community support broke fund raising efforts for the chapter bringing in $12,275. Mr. Bob Pedulla, FFA Advisor says we had super support by the community members and parents, the highest we have ever had in the 28 years I've been here. Sixty three students sold for a average of $198 a student. This year's sale brought in $4,000 dollars more than last year. Panhandle Concrete was the volume buyer of the evening. Pedulla thanked all of the community members and parents that showed up and supported the auction.

The funds raised from the labor auction will be put toward the state FFA convention, summer activities and the national convention in the fall. This spring the Scottsbluff FFA Chapter has won seven of the last nine contests. Thirty three chapter students have qualified to go the state convention this year. Pedulla says that's seven more students qualified for state than a year ago. The Nebraska State FFA Convention is April 7 - 10th in Lincoln. Be listening for coverage of the convention on the Rural Radio Network. Good Luck to all FFA students!
